Jack Zulu Series
Jack Zulu is an enchanting adventure in the tradition of Tolkien and Lewis, as well as Spielberg and Lucas. But this fantastical journey launches in rural West Virginia in the eighties, with a half-Appalachian, half-African kid trying to escape the town he sees defining his small, sad life. Jack discovers a gate hiding a city between twelve realms, and finds out where he truly belongs in a surprising, satisfying adventure. Written by S. D. Smith and his son J. C. Smith

Tumbleweed Thompson Adventures
Author Glenn McCarty takes readers on wild-west adventures from the American frontier. Follow Eugene Appleton, a pastor’s kid who doesn’t usually find himself in much trouble, until he meets a new friend: Tumbleweed Thompson. Eugene, Tumbleweed, and their friend, Charlotte, find themselves in adventure after adventure, most often because of Tumbleweed’s own machinations.

Mooses with Bazookas
Mooses with Bazookas: And Other Stories Children Should Never Read is a fun collection of stories. It’s exactly like The Count of Monte Cristo apart from the many differences. Our lawyers have instructed us to warn you that reading it may directly cause you to come down with every single disease you are worried about contracting. On the plus side, our nation’s beloved and heroic critics have had their say.

“FANTASTIC is not a word that comes to mind.”
—Beth Hinkle, author of Elite Prose

“ASTOUNDING problems at the sentence level and beyond.”
—Dr. Roger Johns, Ph. D.

“S. D. SMITH IS in dire need of A GENIUS editor.”
—Art Simonson, Inner Ring Magazine

“This author had nothing MUCH BETTER to do THAN destroy the language of DICKENS, SHAKESPEARE, AUSTEN!”
—Yammy Tork, Good Lit Guild

  • [A]ll the important things—family values, adventure, wonderful characters—were there. The world the authors are creating is very interesting and I’m excited to read more about it... If you aren’t comfortable with Harry Potter, but your kids love “real-world” fantasy, this is a fabulous choice. Cannot recommend it enough.

    -Nathan on Jack Zulu

  • This book was the best I have ever read in my whole life. I just could not put it down. I loved it. SUPER good. It was a VERY adventurous and exhilarating book! GREAT for boys.

    -David on Tumbleweed Thompson

  • There are some authors that I purchase their books without question. I know they will be valuable additions to our family library. SD Smith is one of those authors. So I ordered The Found Boys without really knowing much about the story but knowing my family would enjoy the story over and over because that’s the kind of stories Smith writes. This story sparked many important conversations and has become a jumping off point for learning more about racism, friendship, and loyalty.

I’m a parent like you and I want my kids to get lost in adventures that won’t get them lost. So much modern storytelling is just thinly-veiled propaganda. But I want my kids to read excellent, noble, fun, faithful stories. -S. D. Smith
