In the nine months since Tumbleweed Thompson left the town of Rattlesnake Junction, Colorado, for life on the road with the Coyote Pete Frontier Show, Eugene Appleton has found himself yearning for a taste of the adventures he imagines his new friend having on the American frontier. Life at home changes in an instant when Tumbleweed once again finds a way to interrupt Eugene’s life to ask for his help in solving the sudden disappearance of his father. And so, the two set off on a life-changing quest in search of the fabled treasure of the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
Filled with pulse-bounding adventure, suspense, humor, and moments of rich beauty as Eugene and Tumbleweed explore the American West in all its ruggedness and splendor, The Golden Road of Tumbleweed Thompson will take readers on a remarkable journey.
The Golden Road of Tumbleweed Thompson is a wild and wooly tale that is classic Americana for a new generation.
"So much fun! I read this aloud to my kids, and we couldn't put it down. Every night, they were asking to stay up late for 'just one more chapter!'" -AC
"My 6 kids (ages 4-12) and I just finished listening to this wonderful story. We loved the adventure and suspense along with the values of faith, justice, friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice. With a huge helping of humor thrown in, this is a perfect book to share with your kids!" - All Our Days

Tremendous American Adventures with Classic Virtues and Sparkling Storytelling
Welcome to the Tumbleweed Thompson Adventures! Author Glenn McCarty takes readers on wild-west adventures from the American frontier. Follow Eugene Appleton, a pastor’s kid who doesn’t usually find himself in much trouble, until he meets a new friend: Tumbleweed Thompson. Eugene, Tumbleweed, and their friend, Charlotte, find themselves in adventure after adventure, most often because of Tumbleweed’s own machinations.
For families who love the action and humor of series like the Green Ember, the Wingfeather Saga, Mr. Limoncello’s Library, and the Mysterious Benedict Society, the Tumbleweed Thompson Adventures provide fast-paced, hijinks-filled middle-grade novels with the added beauty of the American west and the classic feel of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
